From announcing her second pregnancy, to attending multiple public appearances, battling hyperemesis gravidarum and participating in two royal tours, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, has had a busy year. Ahead of the new year, take a look back at her top five moments from 2014.

1. Australia/New Zealand tour: In April, the young royals embarked on their first official tour together, a combined two weeks in Australia and New Zealand. The trip was not only a success for Kate — she won a yacht race against her husband Prince William in Auckland — it was also their now 1-year-old son Prince George’s first tour abroad. The family’s most memorable visits during their trip included a group playdate at the Government House in Wellington, New Zealand, and a visit to the Bilby exhibit at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney.

2. Pregnancy announcement: After months of speculation that the Duchess of Cambridge was pregnant with her second royal baby, Clarence House confirmed in September that Kate and Prince William, both 32, were expecting. The baby is due to arrive in April 2015.

3. First day back at work: After almost two months of being cooped up in Kensington Palace with severe morning sickness, the duchess returned to her royal duties Oct. 21. Not only was Prince William by her side during the event at the Royal Garden Hotel in London, the world also got their first glimpse at her tiny baby bump.

4. Eye roll video: One New Yorker was treated to a personal eye roll from the duchess during her visit to the Northside Child Development Center in Harlem on Dec. 8. The incident occurred after an unidentified woman at the facility interrupted the duchess’ conversation and told her to “keep wrapping” a child’s Christmas gift. Footage of Kate’s reaction during her stop at the center, the first of many on her and Prince William’s whirlwind U.S. tour, is now available for your viewing pleasure on Vine.

5. Meeting Beyoncé: Kate and William’s meeting with unofficial New York royalty, Beyoncé and Jay Z, caused quite the buzz earlier this month. The two couples shook hands and had a brief conversation after catching an NBA game at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn Dec. 8. The pair reportedly met to discuss a potential collaboration with the NBA and William’s United for Wildlife foundation. During their visit, the duo also met with Cleveland Cavaliers player LeBron James. After the game, James gave the royal couple a jersey for Prince George.
