Kate Upton can add “zero-gravity modeling” to her ever-growing list of accomplishments.

The 21-year-old model, who served as the cover girl for Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue in both 2012 and 2013, participated in a space-themed photo shoot for this year’s issue.

Sports Illustrated teamed up with Zero Gravity Corp., which allows civilians to experience zero-gravity flight, to make the shoot a reality. Upton and a Zero-G crew took off from Space Coast Regional Airport in Titusville, Fla., in a specially equipped Boeing-727 aircraft, according to a press release.

The aircraft performed 17 parabolas, which are stunts designed to replicate both zero gravity and lunar gravity, the press release notes. Meanwhile, a weightless, bikini-clad Upton floated through the plane, striking poses for Sports Illustrated’s cameras.

“The ZERO-G experience was really exhilarating for everyone involved,” Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue editor MJ Day said in the press release. “We have been almost everywhere in the past 50 years with SI Swimsuit, but we have never done anything like this. It was certainly the most out-of-the-box shoot. Once again, Kate surprised us all with how she handled modeling in weightlessness.”

Of course, shooting in bizarre situations is nothing new for Upton. In 2013, she traveled to Antarctica for her second SI Swimsuit cover shoot, braving sub-zero temperatures while wearing outfits more suited to a beach than an enormous mass of ice.
