Modeling's newest it girl has gained a massive following due in large part to her sexy curves, but a group of critics are saying she is the massive one, calling her names like thick and lardy, and saying that she looks like a squishy brick and pregnant.

The most vicious critic of Kate Upton, who landed this year's Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition cover and is on the cover of this month's GQ, so far has been the website SkinnyGossip.com.

A controversial site in its own right, SkinnyGossip has been linked to promoting anorexia, and it features a terrifying list of Starving Tip[s] of the Day aimed at helping girls become as skinny as humanly possible. The horrific starving tips, such as Learn to LOVE that empty feeling in your stomach. Trust me, you'll feel disgusting when it starts filling up again, and If you must eat, ONLY eat when people are watching you. All other calories are eaten in vain, are accompanied by photographs of super-thin girls' legs, ostensibly to show what girls should aspire to look like.

And the site is now turning its eyes to Kate Upton, who it calls well-marbled in a headline, comparing her to a cow, and lambasting her a cannibal for eating a beef hamburger in an advertisement for fast food giant Carl's Jr.:

I thought cannibalism was illegal?!? If that's not a very different species of cow, Kate could be in legal trouble!

The article, which does not list an author's name, goes on to lay into Kate Upton, describing an un-flattering photograph of the 20-year-old model as a shot of her lumbering up a runway like there's a buffet at the end of it, going on to add that, she looks thick, vulgar, almost pornographic - and she is a solid 30 lbs too heavy for this outfit.

The insults keep flying for another several paragraphs, with the unnamed writer calling Kate Upton everything from lardy and squishy to piggie and vulgar.

The site, which is decidedly pro-uber-skinny, attempts to wade into the debate over what size a model should be:

Huge thighs, NO waist, big fat floppy boobs, terrible body definition - she looks like a squishy brick. Is this what American women are 'striving' for now? The lazy, lardy look? Have we really gotten so fat in this country that Kate is the best we can aim for? Sorry, but: eww! The sudden surge in fame for Kate Upton makes me wonder how much further our plus-sized fixation is going to go.

And SkinnyGossip appears not to be the only group with a beef with Kate Upton's size, as Victoria's Secret casting director Sophia Neophitou, apparently had some harsh words for the model in a New York Times article quoted by the site:

We would never use her... she's like a Page 3 girl... she's like a footballer's wife, with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy.

But all the hating in the world doesn't make up for the number of people who love the newest supermodel on the block.

And in perhaps the greatest rebuttal to all her critics, Kate Upton herself never has, and likely never will take all the harsh words to heart, as she told the New York Times:

People told me I couldn't be fashion, that I'm just an old-fashioned body girl, only good for swimwear ... But I knew that I could bring back the supermodel ... What can I say? I'm relatable.
