Kate Winslet was one of the stars who recently nabbed a Golden Globe Award. The actress was taken by surprise with her win and she recently revealed the reason behind her reaction.

In an interview with E!News during the red carpet event of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards held on Saturday, Jan. 30, the actress admitted that “The Revenant” star Leonardo DiCaprio distracted her during the 2016 Golden Globe ceremony. "To be honest with you, because I've been so focused on Leo and him winning everything and being so excited for him…I was genuinely, extremely shocked," Winslet explained.

Winslet was awarded Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for the movie “Steve Jobs” during the recently held Golden Globes Award. On the other hand, Winslet’s former co-star’s film “The Revenant” was awarded Best Motion Picture – Drama, as well as a Best Actor in a drama motion picture for DiCaprio.

Over the years, Winslet and DiCaprio have remained friends and their closeness was seen by many fans during the awards season this year. Winslet even showed her immense pleasure when DiCaprio won the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for “The Revenant.”

DiCaprio and Winslet also shared a memorable moment during the recently held SAG Awards, according to E!News. When “The Revenant” star was announced as a winner, he accepted hugs from the people at his table while Winslet clapped enthusiastically behind them. Before heading off to the stage to accept the award, DiCaprio went over to Winslet to give her a big hug and a kiss.

The actor’s SAG Award marked the second time that DiCaprio won a Best Actor award for his role in “The Revenant.” In a previous interview with BBC News, Winslet shared that she would be “surprised” if DiCaprio will not win an Oscar Award for his work on “The Revenant,” Entertainment Weekly reported.

“I think you can sort of feel it, and I think that everyone wants it for him. It would be amazing,” Winslet stated.
