Katey Sagal sells Hollywood Hills home, downsizes to Bel Air

Katey Sagal, the Golden Globe Award winning actress, and her husband, writer/producer Kurt Sutter, have sold their Hollywood Hills, Calif., home for $3.77 million to downsize to a home in West Bel Air.

The actress had a 1937 traditional country home of about 6,000 square feet in more than half acre. It was sold to Rickey Minor, the former music director of American Idol.

The house has a 1,500-square-foot guest house with a gym, an office and a studio, and boasts of a beautiful view of a mountain and the city lights.

It was bought for $3.71 million by the couple in 2005 shortly after they were married and they spent $1 million renovating and adding the basketball court.

The main four-bedroom home was built in 1937 and has a charming country style enlivened with some very colorful art.

The house has a library, gym, five fireplaces, six bedrooms, eight bathrooms and a lot of other luxurious things.

The blue and white tiled kitchen complete with fireplace is particularly cute and adds to the home's casual appeal, according to Luxist.

In early 2010, they put their 7,200-square-foot mansion on the market for a price of $4.9 million. A few months later, the asking price for their six-bedroom, eight-bathroom dwelling reduced to $4,325,000.

Sagal, who played Peggy Bundy in the 1990s sitcom 'Children', appears in the television series 'Sons of Anarchy' and voices a character in the animated series 'Futurama.'

Sutter, best known for his work as a writer and actor on 'The Shield', is the creator and executive producer of 'Sons of Anarchy.'

They bought a 3,844-square-foot, stylized A-frame house with 5 bedrooms and 5 baths for $3.695 million. The home has a chalet-like, wood-beamed interior and sits on 1.5 wooded acres.
