Katherine Webb, former Miss Alabama USA, announced her engagement to football player AJ McCarron via Twitter on Friday.

The 24-year-old model wrote on her account with a picture of her and McCarron hugging: “WE'RE ENGAGEDDD!!! @10AJMcCarron.” Webb later added a close-up photo of her engagement ring, "He designed it himself," she explained.

According to reports, McCarron proposed to Webb in Gulf Shores on Friday, after two years of dating. A fellow restaurant guest reportedly shared a photo of McCarron's autograph and wrote, "at the beach club#gulf shores.. AJ MCCarron Alabama QB proposes to Auburn grad Katherine Webb."

Webb had previously gushed over her boyfriend in an interview with Ryan Seacrest. "When you find yourself with someone that you really can see yourself with, like, you know it," she reportedly said when asked about marriage. "I knew in the first two weeks that we were going to be together for a long time. Love kind of takes over and you start talking about the future. So yeah, it's definitely something that I want. I don't see all of this fame -- or whatever it is -- kind of affecting how I feel toward AJ."

McCarron won three national titles in his four years with the Crimson Tide, two of which, in 2011 and 2012, came with him as starting quarterback.

Webb graduated from Auburn in 2011 and was named Miss Alabama in 2012.
