Katy Perry and Diego Luna are Doomed Lovers in ‘The One That Got Away’ [VIDEO]

Katy Perry and Mexican star Diego Luna play doomed lovers in her new music video, The One That Got Away, which premiered on Friday.

Playing on the theme of nostalgia, the video is packed with young love, tears, heart-shaped tattoos and a haunting rendition of You Are My Sunshine near the song's close.

Luna, 31, is perhaps most famous for starring in 2001's Y Tu Mama Tambien, opposite Gael Garcia Bernal. Luna has since appeared in films like Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, The Terminal and Milk.

On Friday, Perry took to Twitter to express her excitement about the new video.

Is there a song that reminds you of them every time you hear it? she wrote.

Today is a special day! Lots of magical things are happening!!! Perry added.

The One That Got Away is the sixth single off of Perry's third studio album, Teenage Dream. If the single reaches number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Perry will break Michael Jackson's record of having the most singles from the same album reach the top spot.

Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.), E.T., Firework, California Gurls and the title track Teenage Dream have all reached number one.

On Friday, Perry, 25, appeared on the The Ellen DeGeneres Show to talk about her one-year anniversary of her marriage to Russell Brand and the possibility of having little Brands.

Yeah, I would love to have children. I think that's one of the reasons to get married . . . if it doesn't hurt the first time . . . I'll keep popping them out, Perry said.

Perry and Brand were married on Oct. 23, 2010 in India.

With her California Dreams tour coming to a close, Perry also announced plans to have a free concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, scheduled for Nov. 23. The tour, which started in February, has grossed more than $25 million, according to Pollstar.

Since its August 2010 release, Teenage Dream has sold more than 1.7 million copies in the U.S., earning the album platinum status. Perry's second studio album, One of the Boys, remains her most successful to date, with more than 5 million copies sold worldwide.
