It has been a rough couple of weeks for singer Katy Perry, whose husband Russell Brand announced last month that he has filed for divorce. Perry spoke out through Twitter over the weekend that she is not alone, especially not when she has 13.6 million fans following her.

I am so grateful for all the love and support I've had from people around the world, Perry tweeted on Saturday. You guys have made my heart happy again.

The 27-year-old U.S. singer married Brand, a 36-year-old British comedian, in India in October 2010. Brand filed for divorce from the singer on Friday. He cited irreconcilable differences as the reason.

The announcement of the divorce came after the two were photographed in different locations on Christmas. Perry was seen in Hawaii hanging out with friends while Brand was spotted in England.

Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage, Brand's press release stated. I'll always adore her and I know we'll remain friends.

Since the announcement of the divorce, there have been two different stories.

Reports were that the couple had a huge fight just before Christmas and that she was blindsided by the divorce.

The Daily Mail has reported that Brand, a recovering drug and sex addict, was tired of Perry's partying habits and jet-setting lifestyle. Brand has said Perry gave him the strength to overcome his past addictions.

Sources have also told the media that Brand has problems with Perry's friends, such as Rihanna, who is also known to party hard. But before deciding on a divorce, sources alleged that Brand asked Perry to tone it down months ago, in vain.

Others have said the stars grew a part.

The Daily Mail has also reported that Perry's evangelical parents Keith and Mary Hudson, recently spoke about their daughter's divorce while on their church pulpit, suggesting it was a gift sent by God to help them fill churches. The church was reportedly packed that last week.

Regarding all the rumors though, Perry also spoke out about them on Twitter.

Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, close sources or my family, Perry wrote.

The couple reportedly didn't sign a prenuptial agreement, and is being said that Brand could walk away with $20 million from the divorce. Perry has a net worth of $44 million, according to Forbes. Brand's worth is estimated to be $15 million.
