Katy Perry and John Mayer are back together! Rumors began circulating earlier this year that the celebrity exes had rekindled their relationship, and fans finally got proof after Perry’s Super Bowl XLIX halftime show … thanks to Missy Elliot. The 43-year-old rapper, who joined Perry on stage to perform a combination of her hit songs “Get Your Freak On,” “Work It” and “Lose Control,” posted a photograph with the on-again couple after the game.

Elliot’s Twitter photo revealed that Perry, 30, and singer/songwriter Mayer, 37, were together Sunday night at a Super Bowl afterparty celebrating the New England Patriots' win. Lest anyone think it was just a case of friendly exes photographed at the same party, a source revealed to Us Weekly that there was more to their Arizona hang. The insider explained that Mayer waited behind the scenes of the halftime show to congratulate Perry when she came off the stage.

Perry and Mayer’s relationship has been on and off since 2012. The pair split for good in February 2014, their separate busy schedules allegedly the reason for the break. Speculation about a reunion sparked when the pair reportedly got together for a “casual dinner party” in early January. A source dished to E! Online that they “seemed very comfortable together and kissed several times.”

“They never stopped talking and being friendly while they were broken up,” the insider added. “They are really excited about being together right now and spending as much time as possible.”
