Pop phenomenon Katy Perry hasn’t been having the best week.

First rumors sprung that the “Wide Awake” singer had split from her bad boy persona boyfriend John Mayer for the second time, and now Perry’s ex-husband, British actor Russell Brand, reminisced about his “shaky” marriage to the blue-eyed star.

Brand, the 37-year-old “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” star, was co-hosting the XFM Teenage Cancer Trust show on Tuesday when some of his friends began to make fun of him for his 14-month nuptials to Perry.

"That marriage was shaky from the get-go, before I’d even got off the elephant," Yahoo’s Omg! quoted Brand.

The two got married in India in October 2010. They stuck with the Indian-wedding-procession tradition whereby the groom arrives to the ceremony on an elephant.

"It was a drag, man," Brand was quoted by Yahoo. "Let me tell you a thing about marriage. Marriage is a bond that can last up to 14 months. This is a sacred 14-month arrangement. Begins on an elephant. Ends in a newspaper."

Another unfortunate story about Perry is circulating in newspapers this week, her seven-month relationship with the “Wonderland” singer is over, according to Us Weekly.

The celebrity news publication was the first to report that the Perry-Mayer romance was over and insiders explained to Omg! that the 28-year-old “Firework” star was taking the dissolved relationship pretty hard.

"She's sad," a source said. "She's been hiding out and leaning on close friends."

Even though both of the stars are said to have thrown themselves back into work, it was said that Mayer is having more fun.

He apparently was in “great spirits” when dining with a female companion.

"He was smiling and laughing," an onlooker told Omg! But another source said "it wasn't a date."

Perry, on the other hand, “gets really withdrawn when there's a change in a relationship," according to Perry pal, who spoke to the news site. "She didn't mention [Mayer] at all."
