R&B singer Kehlani attempted suicide, by her own admission, after rumors swirled that she cheated on Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving with her ex-boyfriend, PartyNextDoor. The singer posted a message to Instagram, and then quickly deleted the photo and its caption.

The photo showed her tattooed arm with an IV hooked up to it. “Today, I wanted to leave this earth,” Kehlani began her post, which garnered thousands of likes before it was removed. “Being completely selfish for once. Never thought I’d get to such a low point. But don’t believe the blogs you read. No one was cheated on and I’m not a bad person. Everyone is hurt and everyone is in a place of misunderstanding. But as of today, I had no single wish to see tomorrow. But God saved me for a reason, and for that I must be grateful [because] I’m not in heaven right now for a reason. On that note, bye, Instagram.” Even though she deleted it, outlets like Bossip and The Shade Room preserved her message through screenshots.

In a different post, Kehlani, 20, credited PND with saving her life.

She denied that her suicide attempt was a cry for help, and then professed her love for PND. “I am severely [and] utterly in love with my first love. Went through a bad breakup and ended up easing into a relationship with a man who was my best friend,” she said.

The singer, who was formerly in the band PopLyfe, denied she cheated on Irving with PND. “No, I’m not a cheater [or a] thot. I’m a believer in following your heart and not lying to yourself," Kehlani wrote.

There are numerous hoax Instagram accounts, but “@kehlani” is the only authentic username for the Grammy-nominated singer. At this writing, she had 2 million followers and no visible posts.
