Days after disclosing her tragic cancer scare several years ago, Kelly Clarkson now looks excited and all set for the Grammy Awards 2017 this Sunday. Ahead of the big event, the “American Idol” Season 1 winner shared a photo of what seems to be a gathering between her and some teenage fans. The snap also stirred speculations of Clarkson possibly performing at the Grammy stage this weekend.

On Friday, the 34-year-old singer took to both Instagram and Twitter to share a snap in which she could be seen flashing a big smile with four girls. In the caption, Clarkson revealed that she had a lot of fun hanging out with the young ladies. She also confirmed her attendance at the Grammys when she stated that she’ll be seeing the girls at the awards show.

Many fans left positive comments on Clarkson’s update ahead of the Grammys. One fan wrote: “Wow! Kelly, you look great!” Another commented: “Oh my gosh Kelly. I thought that was a TB [throwback] of you when you were younger! Girl. Motherhood looks great on you!”

There were also fans who got curious about whether or not the “Moment Like This” hitmaker will be performing at the Grammys. One asked: “Are you performing at the Grammys 2017 stage?” Another insisted that the mother-of-two “should be performing” at the awards show.

Clarkson’s post comes days after she revealed on Billboard’s “Pop Shop” Podcast on Tuesday that she had a cancer scare a decade ago. In her interview, the singer-songwriter revealed that she attended the Grammy Awards in 2006 thinking that she had cancer. “Not many people know this, but I was told that morning that I had cancerous results for something. I went the whole day crying. They redid my makeup four times because I was like, ‘Wow, so young.’ I was just completely freaking out,” she said.

At the awards show that year, Clarkson bagged several Grammys, including for the best female pop performance. “When I won, I thought, ‘Oh, my God. This is like God giving me more thing before something horrible happens,” she told Billboard co-director of charts Keith Caulfield and Billboard.com senior editor Katie Atkinson during the podcast.

Fortunately, it was found out that she was misdiagnosed, and the doctors admitted that they made a mistake. “As a kid watching the Grammys, that was a big dream! It was kind of the worst/greatest day. And the next day was also the worst/greatest day because I wanted to punch someone. I was like, ‘Who mixes up results? Why wouldn’t you test again?’ It was very much a roller coaster ride, that day, for me,” Clarkson said.

This year, Clarkson is nominated for her touching rendition of “Piece by Piece” on the “American Idol” stage. Commenting on her Grammy nomination, Clarkson said, “It’s pretty special that it’s this specific version, purely because it’s just an intimate lyric, and how we did it was very intimate -- with just me and a piano.”

The 59th annual Grammy Awards will be held this Sunday, Feb. 12. It will be aired live on CBS at 8 p.m. EST.
