After the mysterious death of 19-year-old Kenneka Jenkins, whose body was found in a freezer early Sunday at Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel & Conference Center in Rosemont, Illinois, theories have continued to pour in on the microblogging site, Twitter.

The teenager's death took the internet by storm Monday as social media users tried to find what really happened to the girl, who was attending a party at the hotel with her friends before she went missing. While the circumstances of her death are being investigated, rumors have surfaced that suggest Jenkins was set up by her friends to be raped and killed for money.

In a cryptic video posted to Facebook on Saturday, the teenager could apparently be heard saying, “Help me,” in the background. Many believe the video, which has now gone viral, could hold key details about Jenkins death.

Initially, it was reported that Jenkins may have accidentally stumbled into the freezer while she was intoxicated. But Twitter users and Jenkins' family alleged foul play. Social media users shared a video that the teenager's friend Irene Roberts filmed and posted to another friend Monifah Shelton’s Facebook page early Saturday. According to some Twitter users, Roberts seemingly turned up the music in the video right after Jenkins called out for help.

The social media users also blamed the police for not doing enough to find the real story behind the mysterious death. Below are some of the tweets by users where they have expressed outrage over the incident.

Right before Jenkins' body was found, Shelton shared a clip of herself with her friend. “Come home so I could see yo big a-- smile. idk how to feel right now I'm literally sick to my stomach. I love u so much & I hate this even happening to you right now I'm over here praying for you baby wherever u at I hope u okay god got you,” she wrote.

Jenkins’ mother Tereasa Martin held a press conference Monday where she said she was not convinced her daughter walked into a freezer because she was drunk. “I believe someone in this hotel killed my child,” Martin told WGN-TV. “(I'm) horrified. It's something that no one could ever imagine. It's unbelievable.”

Jenkins’ sister Leonore Harris, while speaking to WGN-TV, also raised doubts about her sister stumbling inside the freezer due to intoxication. "The freezer door is heavy. So there’s no way. If they’re saying she’s drunk, she don’t have no strength. ... If she had enough strength to open that freezer door, she would have had enough strength to walk straight," she said.

It's not just the internet users who think Jenkins' friends might be guilty. “Best friend, no friend, you’re a suspect, you was in there, just come forward. You was happy enough to put yourself on Facebook, now be happy enough to come over here and tell these detectives what happened. Everyone that was in that room should march down to the police department. Somebody inside that room knows what happened,” Andrew Holmes, an activist who is working with Jenkins’ family, told WGN-TV.

Police are investigating the Facebook video and also questioning those close to Jenkins. Shelton and Roberts have not been named as suspects yet. “Yes, they’ve looked at it and continue to look at it and all the other social media videos and posts,” Rosemont Police spokesman Gary Mack told the Chicago Tribune about the Facebook Live video Monday. “They are leaving no stone unturned as far as trying to corral everyone they can and talk to them and interview them about what happened and what was going on that night.”
