The betting lines for the 2015 Kentucky Derby shifted somewhat after trainer Todd Pletcher’s Stanford was pulled from Saturday’s race at Churchill Downs.

Stanford’s connections decided to pull the Louisiana Derby runner-up not because of a late injury, but rather to focus on either the Preakness Stakes or Belmont Park’s Peter Pan on May 9, The Courier-Journal reported.

"We felt like we were on the fence all along whether we were going to run run or not and decided to enter and get a look at the post position draw -- see if any of the main contenders got a horrible draw and things like that," Pletcher told The Courier-Journal.

One of five of Pletcher’s contenders to qualify, Stanford was supposed to run out of the No. 11 post, but now every other thoroughbred will slide over one post.

Frammento, who initially finished just outside of the Derby prep race standings in 21st place, is now expected to move up to the No. 20 post for a shot at the 141st Run for the Roses. Bred in Kentucky, Frammento came in third at the Grade 2 Fountain of Youth and fourth at the G1 Blue Grass Stakes but his trainer Nick Zito believes the much longer 1 1/4–mile dirt track at Churchill Downs is the distance he was meant to run.

"We are all excited. We made it. Everybody is happy," Zito said. “[Frammento] has been training great. I know we will have to break from the 20, but that is a lot better than post zero."

Originally listed as a 100/1 longshot, Frammento’s odds were cut in half to 50/1, as were fellow alternate Tale of Vere’s, according to the latest odds from Bovada.lv.

Seeking his second Derby victory, the seven-time Eclipse Award-winner Pletcher still has Carpe Diem at 8/1 out of the No. 2 post, Materiality at 12/1 from No. 3, and 30/1 longshot Itsaknockout who will slot over from No. 13 to No. 12.

The favorites, Bob Baffert’s American Pharoah at 5/2 and Dortmund at 3/1, won’t have to move over and their odds held overnight.
