“American Bad A--” rapper Kid Rock knows which 2016 U.S. presidential candidate he will vote for: Donald Trump. The musician opened up about his political views during an interview with Rolling Stone Monday.

Kid Rock’s one of the comparatively few musicians who leans toward the right, and, when asked about the Republican field of candidates, he replied, “I’m digging Trump.” He added: “My feeling: let the mother------- business guy run it like a f------ business. And his campaign has been entertaining as s---.”

Kid Rock, whose birth name is Robert James Ritchie, believes Trump will get the GOP nomination because the country needs change. “I’m a pretty good, tax-paying citizen of this country,” he said about his decision to support Trump. “Let the business guy in there. It’s not really working too well running it not like a business. I mean, what business f------ survives when they’re f------ broke?”

During the 2012 presidential-election campaign, the rapper freestyled about voting for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney over President Barack Obama, “They say Obama is lyin’/ That’s why I’m voting for Romney and Ryan.”

Although Kid Rock considers himself a libertarian, he’s chosen to support the Republicans because he doesn’t believe in being an independent. “I don’t like the hardcore views on either side, and I’m not in bed with anybody,” he told Rolling Stone in 2013. “I’m a firm believer you have to pick a side. I can’t be playing the middle.”

Kid Rock’s name soon began a top-trending Twitter topic Monday. Many netizens criticized the rapper, calling him a “redneck,” which is one of the nicer things they said.

Trump hasn’t yet responded to Kid Rock’s endorsement, which was made while Iowa was conducting its presidential caucuses Monday.
