Retro is a good look for Michelle Trachtenberg. The starlet is being deemed “stunning” by many after an image of her in her role for the TV film “Killing Kennedy” surfaced Tuesday. The “Gossip Girl” actress is playing Marina Oswald, the wife of President John F. Kennedy's assassin, in the movie that chronicles JFK’s final years.

Trachtenberg is shown cradling a child in the new image, thought to be their first child June Oswald, wearing 1960s garb: a green sweater and orange-and-red striped dress. Her hair is lighter and shorter than usual and softly curled.

The 27-year-old actress, who rose to fame as a Nickelodeon star, said she was thrilled to play Lee Harvey Oswald’s Russian wife in the television movie. She told Us Weekly at the end of May:

"I am so excited for the challenge to portray Marina Oswald, and to do my first role speaking only in Russian," she said. "I'm the only actor playing someone who is still alive, so I want to stay as true to her as possible. This is a story about JFK's assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, and his wife Marina. And it is fascinating." The real Marina Oswald Porter, who was born in Russia, maintains her late husband was innocent 50 years after Kennedy’s murder. At the age of 71, she still lives in Dallas with her husband and children after remarrying in 1965, Us Weekly wrote.

The film, which also stars Rob Lowe as JFK and Ginnifer Goodwin as Jacqueline Kennedy, is based on the best-selling book by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard. “Killing Kennedy” will air in November National Geographic Channel, The Hollywood Reporter writes, after starting production in Richmond, Va., this month.
