Whether or not Kris Jenner might have wanted her third grandchild to have a K name, she’s defending her daughter’s choice to name her baby North West. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West practically shocked the world with the decision to pick the unusual name, but after providing a little explanation as to where they got the name from, at least grandmother Jenner is coming around.

The Kardashian momager appeared on “The View” Tuesday to promote her new talk show “Kris” and opened up about her infant granddaughter’s name. When host Barbara Walters asked the 57-year-old what she thought about it, even though it didn’t begin with a K, Jenner replied:

"I love the name North. I'm pro-North, absolutely. The way [Kim] explained it to me, north means highest power, and North is their highest point together. I thought that was really sweet."

The E! reality star added almost no one is called by their whole name anyway: “You don't walk around calling somebody, 'Hi, North West!'" West and Kardashian, who has not returned to Twitter since North’s birth, are supposedly too busy with their daughter to address the public’s confusion over their choice of a name for their bundle-of-joy.

According to some sources, West, 36, is completely in love with North. "Kanye feels he's already deeply changed after having the baby," a source told Us Weekly. "He's so in love with her and Kim right now."

Another insider added to the magazine about the rapper: "Kanye has so much love for his daughter. He is so doting and has held her since the second she was born. I don't think he has slept a wink. He just wants to keep checking on Kim and the baby." Check out the latest Kardashian drama on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” every Sunday on E! at 9/8c.
