After a year of trying to have a second child, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are said to be looking into alternative methods, including surrogacy. Kardashian previously discussed the idea on an episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” Season 10, but has reportedly not yet committed to anything.

According to Us Weekly, Kardashian, who has struggled very openly with her fertility, “has been undergoing IVF.” The treatments are rumored to be taking a physical toll on the 34-year-old reality star, a source telling the magazine the treatments are “causing problems with her body." Kardashian and her rapper husband are now said to be looking into other methods to have a second child, including surrogacy and adoption. According to Us Weekly's source, however, the couple would prefer to pursue surrogacy.

Although they are considering their options, Kardashian recently told Matt Lauer she and West, 37, “would like to hold out a little longer" because considering alternative pregnancy methods. During the interview, which took place on April 27, she revealed that they plan to continue to try the old fashioned way, but are open to other options.

“I still have hope, so I’m just going to keep on trying. Never say never. I mean, we haven’t talked about adopting,” she said.

Kardashian has struggled with her reproductive health since getting pregnant with her first child, North West. She had a difficult pregnancy, gaining up to 50 pounds and going into labor early. Her delivery was no walk in the park either. She previously revealed her placenta grew onto her uterus after she gave birth to North. She has said that her doctors have warned her that getting pregnant again could result in her having to undergo an emergency hysterectomy immediately after delivery.

The reality star has been very vocal about her desire to give daughter North, 1, a brother or sister. She has said, on several occasions, that she wants North to grow up with a sibling close to her own age, just like she had growing up. Kim is one of four biological siblings and two half sisters. She also has four step siblings from former stepfather Bruce Jenner.
