Before formalizing his run for U.S. President in 2020, rapper Kanye West will try to get the American people’s approval on 2016. He has auditioned for the upcoming farewell season of “American Idol.” His wife, Kim Kardashian, shared a sneak peek of the audition via her Twitter account.

"My name is Kanye. I'm from the Southside of Chicago. I'm originally a producer," he says, as he humbly stands in front of “American Idol” judges Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. “I always wanted to rap, but no one ever believed in me. So I wanted to try some things out,” he continues.

According to US Weekly, Kanye chose his hit single “Gold Digger,” as his audition piece. The report also confirms that the hilarious audition, was only fake, even if host Ryan Seacrest pretended to ask Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian, if she was nervous for her hubby. Kim played along and said that she wasn’t nervous, because she believes in her husband. When he peeked out from the audition room, Kim eagerly asked him if he made it to Hollywood.

The clip was filmed back in October, during the “American Idol” Season 15 audition sin San Francisco. FOX has previously announced that the 15th season will be the last.

"American Idol" Season 15 premieres on Wednesday, Jan. 6, at 8:00 p.m. ET on FOX.
