It cannot be denied that Kim Kardashian has one of the best bodies in Hollywood, but apparently that is not enough for her. The 33-year-old reality TV star posted a photo of herself on Instagram for #FBF, or “Flashback Friday,” and commented on the picture, which was taken five years ago.
“#FBF ughhh I am 20 lbs lighter here! This was just 5 years ago! Ok I'm going back on my grind. I gotta get back here!” she wrote. The reality star has already proven she has no problem whipping her body into shape, after losing more than 50 pounds following the birth of her daughter North in 2013.
How will Kardashian lose the weight? The Atkins diet apparently worked wonders for her after the birth of North, and she has praised the meal plans the diet recommends. Kardashian lost 56 pounds following the low-carbohydrate meal plan. Carbs are drastically reduced, and dieters consume more protein and fat than they would from a normal diet. The body then uses fat as fuel, causing rapid weight loss.
“What distinguishes the Atkins diet is the absence of a lot of carbohydrates, so that leaves out a lot of choices,” “The Great Cholesterol Myth” author Jonny Bowden told E! News recently. “You can make bad choice and good choices, but there's nothing dangerous about the Atkins diet. There really isn't a downside to it."
Though a lot of food options are left out, Kardashian is no stranger to discipline. According to OK! Magazine, in order to get ready for her May 2014 wedding to Kanye West, Kardashian drastically restricted her diet. A source at the time said she ate only lean protein and green vegetables because they have more fiber. To stay on track, her assistant had “a bag of celery sticks at all times.” In addition, Kardashian is said to have drunk only water in what is being dubbed “Atkins mania.” “She doesn’t really drink, but she likes a glass of red wine with dinner and coffee in the morning, but her Atkins mania won’t allow her those anymore. She won’t even have a sip,” the source continued.
