Celebrities really are just like us. New mom and reality star Kim Kardashian recently revealed that it wasn’t a private chef or personal trainer that got her post-baby body back into shape, it was the familiar Atkins diet.

The 32-year-old “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star said her weight loss following the birth of her daughter North West in June is all due to the diet plan. “Need to know @KimKardashian secret on how she’s lost so much weight,” asked one Twitter follower Sunday to which Kardashian replied, “I’ve actually been doing the Atkins diet & luv it.”

The Atkins Diet confirmed on its Twitter account "Atkins Insider" Monday that Kardashian lost her baby weight by utilizing their system, which stresses a low carbohydrate intake and discourages counting calories. “Kim lost her baby weight with Atkins! She’s been eating lean proteins, healthy fats, carbs, fruits, veggies & cheese,” said a social media spokesperson.

According to nutritionist and “The Great Cholesterol Myth” author Jonny Bowden, Kardashian appears to have lost approximately 25 pounds following the diet regimen. “What distinguishes the Atkins diet is the absence of a lot of carbohydrates, so that leaves out a lot of choices,” Bowden told E! News. “You can make bad choice and good choices, but there's nothing dangerous about the Atkins diet. There really isn't a downside to it," he said.

Prior to her delivery, the Daily Star reported in May that Kardashian would be signing a contract with Weight Watchers. Allegedly, the E! star was contacted by the weight loss company after she complained about her pregnancy weight gain.

Kardashian, who initially remained out of the limelight following the birth of her daughter with “Yeezus" rapper Kanye West on June 15, was last spotted flaunting her new figure in downtown Los Angeles last week. The reality star, who also debuted her newly dyed blonde locks, wore a tight, grey dress to accentuate her post-baby body.
