Christmas came early for reality-television personality Kim Kardashian West and her rapper husband Kanye West. Saturday, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star announced on Twitter that she gave birth to her second child, a boy.

In a short blog post titled “Kanye and I Welcome Our Baby Boy,” the 35-year-old said her son was born Saturday morning and that she and the baby “are doing well.” So far, Kardashian West and her husband have not revealed details about the birth, including the baby’s name.

The pair’s newest bundle of joy will join big sister North West, who was born in 2013. Kardashian West’s due date was Christmas Day, but Us Weekly wrote that doctors wanted to induce her labor because of pregnancy complications. When the E network star was pregnant with North, she suffered from preeclampsia and placenta accreta. “Kim’s doctors want to get the baby out early because of her medical history,” the media outlet reported.

Kardashian West has been extremely vocal about her second pregnancy and frequently shared updates on her health with fans. This month, she wrote on her website that she underwent a “painful” procedure to turn her baby from the breech position to the proper birthing position.

“This weekend, I checked into the hospital and underwent a procedure called an external cephalic version (ECV), which is done to manually turn the baby from a breech position to a head-down position,” Kardashian West wrote. “They don’t give you any pain medication, and let me tell you: This was soooooo painful. Probably more painful than childbirth. But it worked!”
