Kim Kardashian West would make a better president of the United States than Donald Trump, hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons says. Simmons made the declaration last week, just days after Trump announced his presidential candidacy.

Simmons spoke about the topic at length during an interview with HuffPost Live on Thursday and made the point again via Twitter on Saturday.

“I don’t think he’d be good for America at all,” Simmons said about Trump. “He makes a lot of news. ... He doesn’t have as much influence as, say, Kim Kardashian. She would probably be a better president,” he stated.

Simmons said he would sooner vote for Kardashian, even though Trump is a good friend. He said that while they have known each other for many years, he doesn’t like Trump’s brand of politics. Simmons further stated that he doesn’t think a big business tycoon is the best person to run the country. He’s afraid that Trump could support the causes that benefit the rich and would support policies that “take advantage” of the poorer citizens of the nation.

As for foreign affairs, Simmons also feels that the United States’ relationship with the rest of the world has been damaged. He cited the George W. Bush administration for this and believes that the Obama administration hasn’t done much to repair the damage. He feels that Trump would potentially be a terrible choice to handle the situation.

Meanwhile, Kardashian West has given no indication that she is interested in running for public office on any level. Trump announced his intention to run for the presidency on Tuesday. His bid for the Oval Office was declared at the Trump Tower in New York City.

In his speech, Trump introduced his slogan “Make America Great Again.” As part of his main goals, he said that he wanted to create more jobs for American citizens on American soil.
