Caleb Followill, the lead singer of Kings of Leon, walked offstage at a Dallas concert Friday night after promising the audience he would return.

He never did.

The band was 11 songs into their set at Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas -- where temperatures were in the 90s Friday -- when Caleb addressed the crowd in a disjointed explanation.

"My voice is completely 100-percent wrong, I'm sorry," the frontman told the crowd, according to E!.

According to a report in The Sun, Caleb then insisted he was not drunk, but was going backstage to drink more -- and vomit -- before he returned for three more songs.

"I'm going to drink some beer and I'm going to drink some tequila and I'm going to have a good time, and for the record I'm not drunk... I'm just f****** hot... I'm about to fall down here because I'm so goddamn hot.

"I have no goddamn idea what the f*** is going on, all I know is that I'm married to the prettiest f****** girl in the whole world...

"I'm gonna go backstage for a second. I'm gonna vomit, I'm gonna drink a beer and I'm gonna come back out here and I'm gonna play three more songs," The Sun quotes him as saying.

The 29-year old singer, who married Victoria's Secret model Lily Aldridge in May, did not return to the stage.

Jared Followill apologized to the crowd on his brother's behalf.

"We are so unbelievably sorry -- there's no words right now," the guitarist told fans, according to E!. "Caleb's just maybe a little unfit to play the rest of the show. I know you guys f**king hate us...It's really not our fault. We will be back as soon as possible...F**king hate Caleb, not us."

A video of the performance that was initially published alongside early media reports of the incident is no longer available for viewing, "due to a copyright claim by Vector Management."

Shortly after the interrupted show, Jared Followill took to Twitter to apologize further:

"Dallas, I cannot begin to tell you how sorry I am. There are internal sicknesses & problems that have needed to be addressed. No words."

On Saturday, he tweeted once again, saying "I love our fans so much. I know you guys aren't stupid. I can't lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade".

Kings of Leon was scheduled to play a concert in Houston on Saturday night, but the venue announced the show's cancellation the same day.

"Kings of Leon regretfully announce the postponement of tonight's show in Houston," the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion announced in a statement on its website. "Caleb Followill suffered from heat exhaustion and dehydration, during last night's Dallas performance causing his vocal chords to seize."
