KME Group's (KME.MI: Quote), one of the world's leading makers of copper and copper alloy products, said on Tuesday output including special products fell 8.6 percent to 571,000 tonnes in 2008 from 625,000 tonnes in 2007.

Milan-listed KME said last month it made a consolidated net loss of 3.5 million euros ($4.74 million) in 2008 after a 48.3 million euro net profit in 2007 as economic downturn hit demand for industrial metals.

KME's consolidated revenues fell to 2.975 billion euros in 2008 from 3.485 billion euros in 2007.

KME has said the uncertain economic situation made it difficult to make forecasts.

KME has 14 plants in Germany, Italy, France, Britain and Spain, and produces about 50 percent of its output in Germany, around 25 percent in Italy and about 20 percent in France.
