New York Knicks scout Rodney Heard has been let go by the organization for violating NBA rules according to sources with Yahoo! Sports.

Heard was previously investigated by the NBA for violating rules regarding pre-draft workouts after a Yahoo investigation in October of last year.

According to the investigation, Heard had been conducting these workouts for years and even included an injury to Indiana Pacers forward Brandon Rush during one of the workouts. Rush returned to the Kansas after sustaining the injury and was drafted the next year.

The NBA fined Heard $220,000 total for the violations.

Sources indicate that Heard's contract was not renewed by the Knicks, and the controversial scout was let go.
