Six directors of AMRI Hospital in south Kolkata, where a major fire killed nearly 90 people Friday, have been arrested.

The hospital is owned by the Emami Group (Goenkas) and Shrachi Group (Todis) and the arrested - Ravi Todi, SK Todi, Radhyashyam Goenka, Manish Goenka, Prashanta Goenka and Dayanand Agarwal - serve as board members of the hospital.

They were booked under sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) of the Indian Penal Code, which are non-bailable. If convicted, they might get punishment up to seven years in jail under these sections.

Radheshyam Goenka and his son Manish surrendered before the Lalbazar police Friday evening while four others, S.K. Todi, his son Ravi, Prashant Goenka and Dayanand Agarwal were arrested from their homes. R.S. Agarwal got admitted to the BM Birla Heart Research Centre and has been arrested.
