The debut episode of talk show ‘Kris’ had the matriarch of the Kardashian family, Kris Jenner, holding a baby, sparking speculation that the tot was North West, daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

Ever since Kardashian gave birth to baby West on June 15, talks were rife that the baby would debut on Jenner’s talk show, and she further fuelled expectations by posting a photograph of her holding a baby.

“You never know who will stop by our show today!” Jenner wrote on the show’s Facebook page, before it aired.

But, the baby in question turned to be a show-staff member's, and Jenner explained, on the show, that Kardashian would debut her baby in her own time. "That would be kidnapping, I wouldn't do it to Kim, just give her some time and peace and she'll be out showing her off herself,” Jenner told the audience.

Last week, Jenner once again teased the audience, during a talk show with Matt Lauer, when he asked if baby West would appear on the show. "(I'll) give you a little something to think about. You never know who's going to show up," she said at the time, Us Weekly reported.

On 'Kris,' which premiered Monday, Jenner dished out about her family, and gave a 10-minute account of the drama surrounding Kardashian’s delivery, where the 32-year-old had to be smuggled past the paparazzi waiting outside her home.

Jenner’s show premiered at a time when the Kardashian family is seen to be in the midst of a lot of drama -- problems in Khloe Kardashian’s marriage, rumors that Kim Kardashian is hiding her baby to inflate the price of the first baby picture, and relationship trouble between Kourtney Kardashian and partner Scott Disick.

And, according to a Fox News report, the timing of these incidents might not be coincidental.

“There's a certain amount the Kardashian clan lets leak for the attention, like avoiding giving a straight answer to the question, 'Will or won't Kimye debut North on Kris's show?'” entertainment expert Jen Birn told Fox News.

“I'm sure that answer has been decided whether it be yes or no, but by deflecting giving a clear answer, it builds the buzz and gives fans hope that they may see the big reveal on the show, when it may have never have been an option at all. But, each time the question is raised, that's more free publicity for Kris's show."
