What do the Kristen Stewart cheating scandal, the Roswell crash, and the JFK assassination have in common? They've all led to conspiracy theories.

In July, Stewart was snapped getting cozy with Rupert Sanders, her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director and a married father of two. The actress, who was in a relationship with Robert Pattinson at the time, was immediately embroiled in a media firestorm.

Now, reports have surfaced that claim the "Twilight" sensation may be the victim of Photoshop trickery.

Crushable Celeb has released a video that allegedly proves the photos showing Stewart and Sanders canoodling are fake. It compares photos of the location where the two were caught with those released by US Weekly (the outlet that obtained the implicating pics) and determines that the their height in the photos differs from their height in real life.

In a post accompanying the footage, Jenni Maier alleges that the 22-year-old actress, Pattinson, Sanders, and Sanderwife-Liberty Ross all orchestrated the incident in order to further their careers.

"From the very beginning I suspected that the entire scandal reeked of a publicity stunt developed in a Hollywood marketing brainstorming meeting to boost the careers of everyone involved. From Kristen Stewart to Robert Pattinson to Rupert Sanders, and yes, even to Liberty Ross.

"And in the weeks since the scandal ripped open the hearts of every American, we've seen all four of their careers receive a huge publicity bump. Not only do average people now know the names Rupert Sanders and Liberty Ross, but they've gotten offered scripts, jobs and everything a Hollywood family could want."

The site notes that Ross, a British Vogue model, benefited from the scandal in that she was chosen to walk on a runway during New York Fashion Week for the first time in years. Several outlets, such as Radar, released stories on Ross' appearance at Vera Wang's high profile show.

Maier also claims that Pattison also benefited from the attention surrounding Stewart's infidelity. According to Box Office Mojo, his film "Cosmopolis," released in the wake of the scandal, pulled in $702,922 at the box office. That's impressive considering the film was only released in just 65 theaters.

Stewart has also generated considerable attention for her newest film. "On the Road" became the talk of the Toronto Film Festival after Stewart turned up for the film's premiere in an elegant in a Zuhair Murad dress. It marked the actress' first professional appearance since the cheating pictures were released.

So is there any truth to the rumors that it was all just a PR stunt?

According to various outlets, such as Dlisted, the answer is no.

"Jenni Maier ... burped up this hilariously ridiculous video as proof that Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Rupert Sanders and Liberty Ross all manufactured the scandalousness to bump up their careers," jokes the site.

Just hours after the photos were published, Stewart issued an apology via People and referred to her actions as a "momentary discretion" before saying: "I'm so sorry," to Pattinson.

Hollywood Gossip, which notes that the video has gone viral, believes that Stewart's apology makes the conspiracy theory unlikely.

So what does, Maier say to that?

"Commenters allude to the fact that blackmail could be involved and that could be the reason she apologized so quickly," she says, providing no evidence or theories to suggest such a thing is true.

The Stir's Jacqueline Burt mocked the bizarre video, joking, "Seriously, I don't know who the genius who made this video is or how they spotted all the telltale phony photo signs, but too bad he or she wasn't around back in the days of JFK! Grassy knoll? Book depository?! Case woulda been solved in seconds."
