Is Kristen Wiig leaving SNL?

In an interview on Alec Baldwin's podcast, 'Bridesmaid' star Kristen Wiig hinted at the prospect, saying that everyone has to leave and you have to leave things that you love.

She said leaving the sketch show will be the hardest thing to do.

I will say that when I do leave it's not because I'm sick of it and not because I see something better or anything like that, Wiig said. It's just that it's time. When I do leave, it will be the hardest thing... You're there for a week and on Saturday night you're sad because you leave these people... This is my seventh year and that's my family. It's my heart. It's New York to me.

Wiig, 38 would not confirm reports that she would be leaving SNL when her contract expires later this year. She has been on the TV sketch show for 7 years as an actress and sketch writer.

Rumors surfaced recently that Wiig and co-stars Jason Sudeikis and Andy Samberg would be leaving the TV sketch comedy show at the end of the season.

A source told US Weekly that while Sudeikis and Samberg were leaving at the season's end, Wiig had not yet made up her mind.

Kristen was talking about leaving a while ago ... with her movie success, it's no surprise, the source said.

But a spokesperson for Wiig and Sudeikis said the rumors were baseless. There is no truth to this rumor on both Jason and Kristen's behalf, the spokesperson said.

Wiig said when she does eventually leave, she will be sorry to part with the cast and writers.

I'm going to miss that camaraderie and I'm going to miss seeing all those faces every day, and what the people bring out in me, creatively. That creative muscle that you have when you're at 'SNL,' you know, it's so fast-paced, she said on Baldwin's bimonthly radio podcast for WNYC.org.

Wiig penned the 2011 smash hit 'Bridesmaids,' a smart, raunchy, female comedy centered on a wedding.

Wiig will star as a New York writer whose relationship ended in the upcoming flick 'Imogene' with Annette Bening. Without giving too much away, people think that I tried to kill myself, she told Baldwin of the movie premise.

On future aspirations, Wiig has not ruled out playing a dramatic role.

People are always so surprised when I want to do dramatic stuff, she said. There are a couple of things that I'm looking at doing next that aren't comedies at all. One of them is really not at all.
