“Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star Kylie Jenner dyed her signature raven locks platinum blonde on Wednesday, but she didn’t mean to. The teenage makeup mogul was originally going for a more brassy hue.
“I actually didn't mean to go platinum,” the Lip Kit creator confessed to People Magazine at her Kendall + Kylie Collection New York Fashion Week pop-up shop Wednesday. “I really wanted a nice, honey dirty blonde and when we started bleaching it, it got so light so fast and I was like ‘Wow, my hair is not damaged, I can do this.’ So I went for it.”
It’s a good thing she did. The youngest Kardashian-Jenner sister has received rave reviews for her daring dye-job. In fact, now all of the Kardashian-Jenner siblings have sported the platinum look at least once. Older sister Kim Kardashian West shocked fans when she sported the same look at Paris Fashion Week in March 2015.
The beauty maven might have even inspired a trend. When asked what she would think about fans bleaching their hair, she said it would be awesome.
“It feels really good to have that influence. It's so cool,” Jenner, 19, said. “We used to do meet-and-greets a lot, and I used to have green hair and then I would see a bunch of girls roll up with green hair the same week and they'd be like, ‘I did it for you.’”
Jenner was inspired by her oldest sister, Kourtney Kardashian. Before she premiered her new ‘do Wednesday, she shared a picture on Instagram of the mother-of-three when she had her hair dyed blonde. She simply captioned the photo from last week, “Vibes.”
When she debuted her new look, the first photo garnered more than 2.1 million likes from her 74.1 million followers. She didn’t caption the post and instead let the picture speak for her.
Jenner, along with her supermodel sister, Kendall, walked in Kanye West’s Season 4 Yeezy fashion show Wednesday. She wore a beige ensemble, which she documented on Instagram and Snapchat.
