Summer isn't over quite yet. Labor Day Weekends is America's last chance to celebrate the summer season before gearing up for fall. The holiday was created by the labor movement in late 19th century, but it didn't become a nationally recognized holiday until 1894. The holiday honors American workers efforts within the workforce.

Labor Day is observed on the first Monday of September. Americans nationwide take the time to devote a weekend-long celebration to the annual holiday. It is often celebrated with barbeques, parties, beach trips. parades and all-around relaxation. However, there isn't a better way to say goodbye to summer on the work-free occasion than with the perfect cocktail.

End summer with a bang by sipping on boozy Labor Day inspired drinks this weekend. Here's a list of 10 drinks to help Americans of age nationwide get into the holiday spirit:

Bourbon Peach Sweet Tea

Southern living status is pointless when American country-wide cannot resist the irresistible taste of sweet tea. Those in need of liquid courage this weekend should let their taste buds experience Southern flavors by devouring the Bourbon Peach Sweet Tea. The combination of bourbon and sweet tea make for a delectable, but dangerous, drink. Try serving the drink in a mason jar.

Ingredients: 2 ounces bourbon, 2 ounces peach preserves, 1 ounce fresh lemon juice, sweet tea, a lemon, 1 sprig thyme and a dash of Aperol.

Alabama Slammer

The origins of this summery drink are unknown, but rumor has it that the first glass was served at the University of Alabama in 1975. The most suitable way to serve this cool summer drink is in a highball glass.

Ingredients: 1 ounce Southern Comfort, 1 ounce Sloe gin, 1 ounce Amaretto, 2 ounces Orange juice, an orange wheel and cherry.

Summer Vodka & Mint Lemonade

Other than sweet tea, is there anything more American than lemonade? No, but spiked lemonade, however, is a game-changer. This cocktail provides a simple and easy way to enjoy one last summer cocktail. This drink is best served in a mason jar.

Ingredients: 4 cups lemonade, 2 cups Stolichnaya vodka, 1/2 cup strawberries, 1 lime, fresh mint and ice.

Long Island Iced Tea

The Long Island Iced Tea is a popular summer staple. This drink blends together the tastes of various spirits to create its strong taste. This drink is best served in a highball glass.

Ingredients: 1/2 ounce gin, 1/2 ounce rum, 1/2 ounce vodka, 1/2 ounce Triple Sec, a splash of Coke and 3 ounces of sweet and sour mix.

Skinny Watermelon Mojito

Watermelon is a sweet and juicy summer staple. The Skinny Watermelon Mojito is a great and refreshing way to get one's final sips of summer in. This cocktail is best served in a tall mojito glass, but a tall water glass can make for a good substitute.

Ingredients: 1 cup watermelon, 4 fresh mint leaves, 1/2 lime, ice and 1 fl oz Bacardi rum.

Pina Colada Sangria

The Pina Colada Sangria will make those who consume it wish they were spending their Labor Day Weekend at the beach. Although that won't be the case for many, this drink may prove to be an adequate substitute. Not only is it easy to make, but it's a great summer staple worth drinking.

Ingredients: 1 20 ounce can of pineapple juice, 1 1/2 cups coconut rum, 2 750 ml bottles Moscato and a pineapple.

Cherry Limeade Margarita

What makes the Cherry Limeade Margarita perfect for Labor Day Weekend is the red color, a color depicted on the American Flag. Plus, one can never go wrong with a well-made margarita.

Ingredients: 2 tbsp of tart cherry juice concentrate, 1 can of frozen limeade concentrate, 1 can water, ice and 3 tbsp tequila.

Blue Mule Cocktail

The Blue Mule Cocktail provides a twist on the beloved drink. It's blue color and sweet taste is the perfect way to celebrate the holiday weekend.

Ingredients: 8 blueberries, 1 slice of lime, 1 rosemary sprig, 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice, 3 ounces ginger beer, 1 ounce blue Curacao, 2 ounces vodka and ice.

Tequila Sunrise

Classic drinks like the Tequila Sunrise never go out of style. This refreshing drink packs sweet taste, but its alcohol ingredient may sneak up on those who drink it. Try adding an umbrella to the cocktail for fun.

Ingredients: 1/2 ounce grenadine, 4 ounces orange juice, 1 maraschino cherries, 2 ounces tequila, ice, orange slices and umbrella (optional).

Shirley Temple

For those looking to abstain from liquor this holiday weekend, the Shirley Temple is a solution. This is a drink as sweet as the American sweetheart of the same name. The mocktail was specially created for the actress on her 10th birthday. A bartender at Chasen's, a restaurant in Beverly Hills, created a non-alcoholic drink for her to sip on at dinner. The Dirty Shirley was later created as its alcoholic equivalent.

Ingredients: 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice, 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice, 2 1/2 tbsp grenadine, 6 tbsp club soda, ice and maraschino cherries. Add 2 ounces vodka for alcoholic version.
