Dr. Luke wants Lady Gaga to testify against Kesha amid their legal battle.

On Saturday, Luke’s lawyer issued a statement confirming that the producer served Lady Gaga a subpoena to testify against Kesha in his ongoing defamation lawsuit against the “Tik Tok” singer. “In connection with Luke’s defamation claims against Kesha, various third parties are being deposed by both sides, including celebrities,” his legal counsel said, Us Weekly reported.

The attorney added that they served her a subpoena because they believe Gaga has relevant information about false statements Kesha told her about Luke. The motion has also become necessary because they have been requesting a deposition date from the “Poker Face” singer repeatedly, but she has not cooperated with them.

In fact, Luke’s lawyers previously issued a subpoena for Gaga in March for an oral testimony in a deposition. They added that the singer gave them a “heavily redacted, four pages spreadsheets of the text messages,” E! News noted. The attorneys believe that the messages she gave them were refined, so they asked Gaga for her availability and to provide a specific date for the deposition. Unfortunately, she kept turning them down because of her demanding tour and filming schedule.

Luke and Kesha’s legal battle started in 2014. She filed a lawsuit against Luke for sexual assault and battery to invalidate her contract with the producer. However, Luke fired back and sued her for defamation. Kesha dropped the sexual abuse claims in 2016, but Luke pushed his countersuit.

In 2016, Kesha allegedly had a text conversation with Gaga wherein the former accused Luke of raping her and another female recording artist. Luke called the accusations “false and baseless.” The “Million Reasons” songstress believed Kesha’s claims and even joined her in her smear campaign and in spreading negative messages about Luke online. They promoted the “Free Kesha” campaign and released “statements urging Sony music to cut ties” with Luke.

In February, Gaga showed her support for Kesha in a tweet. “There are people all over the world who love you @KeshaRose. And I can say truly I am in awe of your bravery,” she wrote on Twitter.

Other celebrities also rallied behind Kesha and Gaga. “If two people dont want to be in business with one another it seems very cruel for one to hold the other in a contract,” Iggy Azalea wrote in support of their cause.
