Lady Gaga's latest incarnation is as a smoking mermaid, Yüyi, in her third Yoü and I fashion film titled, HAUS OF Ü ft. YÜYI released Wednesday. The latest offering features Gaga gyrating on a director's chair in a monochromatic white set, dressed as a water nymph replacing her signature stilettos with black fish scales.

There is a collection of behind-the-scenes shots of Gaga as she is carried around the cornfields of Nebraska by two of her crew members. Just like her male alter-ego, Joe Calderone, Yüyi is a chain smoker. She needs to be carried to the shooting set due to her inability to walk in fish costumes.

Nicola Formichetti, Gaga's longtime stylist and Mugler creative director, makes a cameo appearance in the video.

The video is somewhat reminiscent of Madonna's documentary Madonna: Truth or Dare filmed in black-and-white, except for onstage sequences in full color.

The video, directed by Inez and Vinoodh, culminates as the mermaid and her crew make their way into the barn. It's like she really gives so much, Inez recalled of shooting the clips in an interview with MTV. Sometimes we were shooting, it was like 3 a.m., and she's been on set forever and still you get an incredible performance - full of fire.
