Lady Gaga dominates all her award shows with the quirkiest outfits, from a dress made out of raw meat, to one that was inspired by condoms. At Sunday's VMA's Gaga dressed down, wearing a dirty white t-shirt over black pants, this time shocking the audience with her menacing performance in drag.

Looking like John Travolta, dressed as her male alter ego, Jo Calderone; Gaga opened the 2011 VMA's with a four-minute monologue. With slicked back hair and a lit cigarette, she took to the empty stage in the guise of a man shouting, Gaga? Yeah her. Lady Gaga. She left me. She said it always starts out good and then the guys, meaning me, I'm one of the guys, and we get crazy. I did. I got crazy, but she's f---ing crazy too, right?

Following her short little rampage and after spraying the audience with beer, Gaga took to the piano to start performing a jazzed up version of her hit single You and I before she went back to the stage with a group of male back-up dancers, also dressed in dirty baggy white T-shirts.

Another highlight of the night was Gaga's attempt to kiss Britney Spears who declined saying I've done that before, referencing her kiss with Madonna on stage at the 2003 VMA's:

The audience was more shocked that ever, gaping and cheering at the stage. Kate Perry looked stunned, while Justin Bieber sat stone faced trying to figure out what was going on, MTV reported.

Gaga had kept quiet about her 2011 VMA performance saying she wanted to keep it a secret, but a week prior to her performance she told MTV news that she was interested in all the different people we can become.

Our potential for the future and how do we in our minds sort of compartmentalize our different personalities, she said. So that's something that I'm fascinated with right now. It's almost as if I'm reviewing my life as a play ... a play she definitely brought to the VMA stage!
