UPDATE: 12:50 a.m. EDT — Terminal B of the LaGuardia Airport in New York City has been reopened after an unattended vehicle was towed away, according to ABC7NY, an ABC affiliate. The abandoned vehicle caused confusion at the airport where officials had decided to evacuate passengers from there and move them to the other terminal.

Evacuation was underway at a terminal in New York City’s LaGuardia Airport late Thursday. No official reason has been provided over the development, but passengers said on social media that an abandoned truck outside Terminal B prompted the airport authorities to call for an evacuation.

The lockdown happened shortly before 11:15 p.m. EDT and triggered confusion among the passengers who posted videos and photos of the situation on Twitter. According to some tweets, military arrived at the airport.

According to 511NY, a traffic monitoring website, Terminal B is closed to traffic.

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police reportedly confirmed that an investigation over an unattended vehicle is underway.
