Etta James, legendary blues singer with classics like "At Last," "Something's Got a Hold on Me" and "The Wallflower," is dead at age 73 after a battle with terminal cancer leading up to her death. James died at a California hospital Friday, as confirmed by her longtime friend and manger Lupe De Leon, who said she died from the complications of Leukemia, which she was diagnosed with in 2010, with her husband, Artis Mills, and sons by her side. At Last Singer Etta James was rushed to a California hospital on Thursday because her health has possibly worsened, according to reports.

James, 73, currently suffers from Hepatitis C, dementia and an incurable form of final-stage leukemia. Dr. Elaine James, James' caretaker, recently revealed that James had been placed under 24-hour medical care at her home in Riverside, Calif. after the leukemia was declared incurable back in January.

CNN tweeted: An update on Etta James: Her manager tells CNN that she's been taken to the hospital - her husband and sons are with her.

According to Zap2It.com, her husband, Artis Mills, and sons, Donto and Sametto, are currently at odds over how to manage James' care and her fortune.

Etta has a terminal illness, said James' reps in a statement earlier this month. She's in the final stages of leukemia. She has also been diagnosed with dementia and Hepatitis C. She's in a home right now and mostly sleeps. She is under the care of a live-in doctor from Riverside Community Hospital and two others who have placed her on oxygen. Her husband is with her 24 hours a day, and her sons visit regularly. We're all very sad. We're just waiting.
