BAFTA Game Awards-winning actress Ashley Johnson just took to social media to give an update to “The Last of Us 2” fans about the upcoming action-adventure survival horror video game.

On Friday, Johnson, who is known for playing protagonist Ellie in the first installment, shared a photo of her and Joel actor Troy Baker on Twitter. The lead stars are apparently back to filming more scenes for Naughty Dog’s video game. “Back in LA, shooting some video game. I think it has zombies in it,” Johnson wrote as caption to the photo she took.

Many fans immediately expressed their excitement after knowing about Johnson’s update. While many used funny memes to voice out how ecstatic they are to get an update from the actress, others wrote emotional messages. “I’m not crying or anything! I’m so excited,” one commented. “You have no idea how excited I am about this game, like, none!! I can’t wait,” another fan stated.

Johnson’s update comes just days after Kotaku reported about the panel discussion for “The Last of US 2” at PSX wherein game director Neil Druckmann revealed the upcoming installment would be all about “hate.”

“If the first game was really about the love between these two characters, this story is the counter of that,” Druckmann said. “This is story is about hate, through Ellie this time. The first game you play as Joel, this game you play as Ellie.”

At the time, Druckmann also addressed the fear of fans that the sequel would just destroy the integrity of the first game’s ambiguous ending. “You have to understand that no one loves these characters more than we do, and we would not do this if we didn’t feel like we didn’t have the right idea,” he told the PSX audience.

Other things discussed at the panel include the new capture technology Naughty Dog is using for the upcoming game and the return of Gustavo Santaolalla to make the score for the action-adventure.

“The Last of Us 2” is going to be a PlayStation 4-exclusive title. It does not have a specific release date yet, and Naughty Dog has yet to announce a release window as well. Stay tuned for future updates.
