Tuesday, the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia said in a report that the consumer price index or CPI rose 6.2% year-over-year in April, slower than the 8.2% increase in the previous month.

Food prices rose 3% on an annual basis in April, while clothing and footwear prices dropped 4.1%. Transport charges were down 3.2%.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices declined 0.4% in April, in contrast to a 0.2% rise seen in the preceding month.
