Reality television alumnus, author and fashion and beauty guru Lauren Conrad turned 26 on Wednesday.

Fans wished Conrad well via Twitter and on her Web site.

Conrad, who came to fame on the reality TV show Laguna Beach and later starred in The Hills, had a busy year.

She's been sticking to lucrative business ventures. She launched her fashion line, named Paper Crown, in fall 2011. She also started a Web site with two partners, TheBeautyDepartment.com, which gives hair, nail and makeup tips and tutorials.

She is also extending her publishing arm with a new novel and a beauty book.

Her novel, The Fame Game, is a spin-off of her L.A. Candy series. It comes out on April 3.

Her non-fiction book Lauren Conrad Beauty will complement Lauren Conrad Style, which was published in Oct. 2010. It will be published by HarperCollins and is scheduled for release in the fall.

This four-color book will feature photographs and step-by-step instructions and will include personal stories from Lauren's own beauty evolution as well as answers to fan-submitted questions at LaurenConrad.com about hair, makeup, nails and all things beauty-related, according to a statement on the upcoming book.

This will also be Conrad's first birthday as a single lady in quite a while. She broke up with her boyfriend of three years, My Boys actor Kyle Howard, in June 2011.
