While this Thursday maybe just another day in the week for some people, for actress Lea Michele, it marks the 4 year anniversary since her late boyfriend Cory Monteith’s death.

The star took to Twitter to share a sweet picture of herself and late beau revealing that he will always have a special place in her heart. “Hard to believe it’s been 4 years... We miss you C... love you more,” the actress wrote along with a heart emoji.

Since his death, Michele has gotten several tattoos in honor of her late boyfriend. The “Places” artist revealed a “Finn” tattoo on her left buttock while posing for the cover of Women’s Health U.K.’s Naked Issue in August 2016. The name comes from Monteith’s character on “Glee” who was named Finn Hudson.

The actress also has the number “5” inked on her, reflecting Finn’s football jersey number on the series which they co-starred on together. She also has “if you say so” on her ribcage which she revealed were his last words to her after she said, “I love you more.”

Monteith’s body was found in his Vancouver, Canada, hotel room on July 13, 2013. The 31-year-old actor reportedly died due to a mixed drug toxicity of heroin and alcohol.

In April of that same year, Monteith completed a stint in rehab receiving treatment for substance addiction. Michele stood by his side when he decided to seek help and the two went on a getaway to Mexico once he was done.

The actor previously revealed that he had “a serious drug problem” when he was younger. “Anything and everything, as much as possible,” he told Parade in 2011.

Following his death, reps for Michele released a statement thanking fans for their support. “Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends and fans. Since Cory’s passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them,” the statement read.

Months after his death, Michele appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and explained why she chose to return to “Glee” after her boyfriend’s death. “I said ‘I have to go back to work,’” she told the host in December 2013.

“What people also don’t understand is that going to work is no harder than being at home and being in the house and opening up a closet and seeing a pair of shoes,” Michele explained.

At the time, the actress confessed that dealing with his death was not an easy task and that she continued to struggle. “There’s this is grief goes with you everyday [with] whatever you’re doing—when there are great moments, when there are hard moments—so I’d rather be at work with the people who I love that are going through it,” she said.

Since his death, Michele has continued to keep Monteith’s memory alive through songs and sweet social media posts reflecting on the special time they spent together.
