Country singer LeAnn Rimes has entered rehab a day after her 30th birthday.

Her representative Marcel Pariseau told People in a statement that "LeAnn has voluntarily entered a 30 day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress. While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."

During birthday celebrations prior to her entering the facility, Rimes headed to a restaurant in Malibu with her husband Eddie Cibrian.

The couple got married in 2011, amid much controversy, as they fell in love on the set of the movie Northern Lights in 2009 while they were both married to other people.

"I know that I didn't do it the right way," Rimes said of her relationship with Cibrian in a 2011 interview. "I didn't have the tools to know how to do it the right way...I'm not glad it happened, but I know why it did."

The couple is often seen frolicking on beaches and showing public displays of affection.

Rimes told People about her decision to seek help: "This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be. All the things in my life will be there when I get out, but you know what? I'm hoping they're not going to affect me as much. I'll have the tools to know how to deal with them."

While Rimes did not reveal the source of her anxiety and stress, she is releasing her new studio album 'Spitfire' and going on an accompanying tour this fall.

Cibrian told People he supports his wife's decision.

"My wife is the most remarkable and courageous woman I know," he said. "I am so proud of her for having the strength to finally take some time for herself. I will be with her every step of the way."
