LeBron James posted a cryptic message to his Instagram account on Tuesday, fueling speculation that he was responding to the rumors that he was romantically involved with video model Carmen Ortega despite his upcoming wedding to Savannah Brinson.

Although he did not make an overt reference to the rumors regarding Ortega, James posted a message on Tuesday that could be construed as a response to the video model’s accusations, Bossip reports. The Instagram post was made just one day after Ortega claimed that James had lied about his engagement to Brinson, his fiancée, in order to pursue a romantic relationship with her.

“Whenever you’re happy and in a great place in anything, someone or something will try to put a virus in it to make it all unravel,” James posted on his Instagram account. The cryptic message was accompanied by several hashtags, including “#MiseryLovesCompany,” “#HatersBreedEnvy,” @StayFocusedPeople,” and “#DontLetItBlockYourHappiness.”

James was implicated in an alleged affair on August 14, when Bossip posted a series of leaked text messages that he had purportedly exchanged with Ortega. While it was not initially clear if the leaked text messages were real, Ortega claimed on Monday that they were authentic.

“And yes, those were real texts from LeBron, you can verify the number if you want,” Ortega told Bossip on Monday. “I have no reason to make it up.” The video model added that the text messages leaked after “somebody took [her] phone” during a vacation in Ibiza.

During the interview, Ortega claimed that James had invited her to have dinner with him in Los Angeles. When she asked James about his upcoming wedding to Brinson, his longtime fiancée, the Miami Heat star reportedly denied that he was in an exclusive relationship.

“I didn’t even know about LeBron being engaged, I literally sent him a screengrab like ‘What is this?’ and he was like ‘Don’t believe everything you read.’”

Ortega added that she believes that Brinson is aware of James’ alleged cheating. “I almost feel like Savannah does know,” Ortega told Bossip. “He made some comments before. I asked him straight up, just tell me what’s your situation, he was more like ‘I’m not on lockdown, it’s not even like that.’”

James has yet to officially confirm or deny Ortega’s accusations. The 28-year-old proposed to Brinson last New Year’s Eve, and is expected to marry his fiancée this fall.
