'The Leftovers' Episode 3 Preview
What can fans expect from "The Leftovers" episode 3, "Two Boats and a Helicopter." HBO

The mystery continues in "The Leftovers" and based on the episode 3 preview, fans may not get many answers regarding the Sudden Departure but will learn more about Mapleton's resident troublemaker, Reverend Matt Jamison.

According to "The Leftovers" episode 3 synopsis, "In the face of dwindling church attendance and threats on his life, Reverend Matt Jamison (Christopher Eccleston) continues to preach his gospel: that many who disappeared in the Departure were sinners and not saints. Matt’s campaign is detoured when he learns he may lose the church to foreclosure, forcing him to launch a desperate, last-minute plan to come up with the cash to keep it."

Much like last week, the episode 3 title, "Two Boats and a Helicopter," is pretty cryptic. How boats and helicopters play into "The Leftovers" remains to be seen but the preview hints at an episode that's focused on Reverend Jamison.

"The Leftovers" episode 3 preview starts with Matthew pleading with Nora, discussing the Departure as a "test," and later leaving a box of donated clothes to the Guilty Remnant. HBO also released a clip of their discussion and Reverend Jamison asks Nora to borrow $135,000.

Some scenes relate to Jamison possibly losing the church and figuring out a way to buy it back from the bank. Several scenes could be flashbacks to the day of the Sudden Departure but there are no scenes of Garvey or other main characters. It's unclear if we'll learn more about Holy Wayne, Tom
