Legbombing: Angelina Jolie Oscars Right Leg Pose Inspires Hilarious Meme

Angelina Jolie's eagerness to show off her toned leg at the 2012 Oscars on Sunday resulted in almost instantaneous ridicule, and now it has its own meme. Legbombing is a Jolie-specific version of photobombing with Angelina's bare and high-heeled leg peeking into iconic photos, apropros of nothing.

The Week published a hilarious legbombing photo where Angelina herself is the victim of her right leg. Oobly.com also has a funny collection of Legbombing photos: Angelina's right leg appears in an image of George Washington crossing the Delaware, with Neil Armstrong on the moon, and in a OWS Police Pepper Spray Scene. Buzzfeed has a few good ones too, including a Christopher Plummer legbomb.

Jolie wore an extremely high-cut black Versace gown to the Oscars on Sunday, and assumed a bizarre posture when she took to the stage to present the screenplay awards: extending her (already exposed) right leg forward with her hand on her hip in what may have been intended as a sexy pose but instead just looked bizarre and uncomfortable.

After she announced a Best Adapted Screenplay win for The Descendants, co-writer Jim Rath mocked her pose during Alexander Payne's acceptance speech. But when questioned by the Hollywood Reporter, Rath insisted the imitation was not mean-spirited.

I had just seen her pose and thought it was bold and fun, Rath said. And you know what? We have exactly the same legs! Really, it was a loving tribute and nothing but.

Honestly, as soon as I saw her pose like that, I was like, 'I'm going to do that,' he continued. I knew Alexander was going to take the reins, so I was like, 'How can I make a moment?' -- selfishly.

Angelina's supremely hot, co-writer Nat Faxon added. There's no way to do anything but honor her.

Angelina Jolie's Leg has its own Twitter account with the handle @Angiesrightleg. Although the account just opened on Monday, it already has over 17,000 followers.
