Gorilla Grodd and a completely different version of Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller) are set to appear in Season 3 of “Legends of Tomorrow.”

Executive producer Phil Klemmer told IGN at the 2017 TV Critics’ Association summer press tour that a “non-human entity” is going to recruit Grodd to go against the Legends next season. Klemmer said that the version of Grodd that will appear on the show is something that viewers haven’t seen yet on “The Flash.” “It will be the most evolved and powerful form of Grodd,” Klemmer teased of the post-Gorilla City Grodd. “We’re actually breaking the episode now.”

Klemmer added that Grodd’s sympathetic and sad plight will be further explored on “Legends of Tomorrow,” noting that at least one of the Legends will “take the bait” for Grodd’s side of things.

While Klemmer didn’t reveal the identity of the “non-human entity” that employs Grodd help, the exec producer did say that viewers will hear the character’s name in the Season 3 premiere. In addition to Grodd, Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) — who is set to return to the show next season — will also serve as an acolyte for the mystery supernatural baddie.

Meanwhile, Klemmer also revealed that Snart, a.k.a. Captain Cold, will return for Season 3 as a Bizarro version of himself. After his death in the penultimate episode of Season 1, Snart appeared in four episodes of Season 2. He first appeared in the show’s sophomore run as a hallucination to his former partner, Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell). Later in the season, the Legion of Doom went back in time and scooped out a pre-Legend version of Leonard to help them steal the Spear of Destiny.

In related news, Klemmer revealed that there are talks for “Arrow” star Paul Blackthorne to appear as Quentin Lance in Season 3, episode 5 of “Legends of Tomorrow.” The exec producer also confirmed that they’re still actively campaigning for Matt Ryan’s Constantine to appear on the show.
