The Legends travel to the future in next week’s episode of “Legends of Tomorrow.”

According to the synopsis for Season 3, episode 3 of the CW series, Sara (Caity Lotz) receives a distress call from their “befriended” agent at the Time Bureau and learns that they have been tasked with going to the future to capture a rogue time traveler. But the Legends make the matter worse when they attempt to lure the time travelling assassin by protecting an outlaw named Zari (Tala Ashe).

While it’s unclear whether the Legends will catch the rogue time traveler, it was previously revealed that Zari will be staying on the Waverider as the Legends’ latest recruit at the end of the episode.

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed to Entertainment Weekly earlier this month that Zari will be joining the Legends because she thinks she can use their help to bring her brother back from the dead.

“When we meet Zari, her brother will have been killed and the rest of her family is presumed missing,” Guggenheim said. “However, when she joins the Legends, she is surprised to learn that their rules prevent her from using time travel to save her brother. A computer hacker by training, Zari then sets out to see if she can find a loophole to these rules and, essentially, hack time.”

Elsewhere in the next episode, Stein (Victor Garber) tries to diagnose Amaya’s (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) condition, but Nate (Nick Zano) discovers an unusual treatment that Amaya begrudgingly agrees to.

At the end of Season 3, episode 2, Amaya told her fellow Legends that she has recently begun to lose control of her powers. “It started a month ago. Whenever I would tap into my powers, I could feel myself losing control, as if the animal was in charge, not me,” Amaya shared. “One day Belgian soldiers came to my village. I told them that Zambesi was under my protection, and when they attacked, I killed them all.”

When Stein commented that it seemed that Amaya didn’t really have a choice but to kill them, Amaya revealed that soldiers were just boys. “When they tried to run, I hunted them down one by one by one, and I ripped them to shreds,” she said.

“Legends of Tomorrow” Season 3, episode 3, aptly titled as Zari, airs on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW. Watch the trailer for the episode below:
