The Les Paul Google Doodle was a smash-hit yesterday. It has gotten so popular and so much positive feedback that Google has decided to leave it up for another day.

“Due to popular demand, we're leaving the Les Paul doodle up in the U.S. for an extra day. Thanks for jamming with us!,” Google tweeted last night.

Yesterday, on June 09, Google rolled out possibly its best doodle to date to honor what would have been the 96th birthday of legendary guitarist Les Paul.

The doodle, an electric guitar, has a nice visual interface, pleasant sounding electric guitar notes, and well-chosen notes from pleasant sounding chords.

To play, users can either hover their mouse over the guitar strings or press keys on their keyboards (to play on the keyboard, make sure you click the cursor out of the Google search box). Since Les Paul Google Doodle’s debut, Internet users have come up with a myriad of songs that can be played on it.

Most are playing the songs with the keyboard. However, some skilled players are doing it with their mouse.

Below are several guides on playing popular songs with the keyboard.
