Leslie Carter, the sister to Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter and singer Aaron Carter, died on Tuesday in upstate New York. The aspiring singer was 25.

A spokesman for the family confirmed the news of the singer's death with Access Hollywood but provided no further details.

Our family is grieving right now and it's a private matter, the spokesperson said. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter. We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time.

Leslie Crater married her husband Mike in 2008. Two years later she announced her pregnancy over Twitter and gave birth to a daughter name Alyssa Jane Ashton last April, according to Access Hollywood.

Leslie Carter followed the footsteps of her famous brothers, dropping a single titled Like Wow! which was reportedly included on the soundtrack of the movie Shrek in 2011. She also was seen on the family's 2006 reality show House of Carters.

Leslie Carter is survived by her husband, daughter and four siblings, according to reports.
