Ernie Hudson is set to appear in an upcoming episode of “Lethal Weapon.”

The 71-year-old actor, who is best known for his role as Winston Zeddemore in the “Ghostbusters” film series, will guest star in Season 2, episode 11 of the Fox buddy cop series. According to the synopsis for the installment, Hudson will play the role of Peterson.

Details on Hudson’s Peterson are being kept under wraps, but the character might be involved in the world of counterfeit money where Riggs (Clayne Crawford) and Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) are drawn into while working on their latest case.

When a group of teenagers inadvertently gets involved in the case, Murtaugh becomes more invested in it as he deals with his own issues regarding his son, RJ (Dante Brown).

Elsewhere in the next installment, Riggs decides to visit his dad Nathan (Rex Linn), who was revealed to be alive and locked up in prison at the end of last episode.

In Season 2, episode 10, Riggs and Murtaugh investigated the death of Diego (Eddie Ramos), a kid who had grown closer to the latter after he busted him for dealing drugs in the past. Although the police found a kilo of cocaine in Diego’s backpack, Murtaugh didn’t think that the victim was back to selling drugs again. This was confirmed by Diego’s girlfriend, Crystal (Chelsea Tavares), who said that her late lover “didn’t touch drugs” and “refused to be around them.”

Crystal told Murtaugh that Diego was running documents and cash between his Harorld Club boss Grant Davenport (Martin Donovan) and the owner of the strip club she’s working at. But when Diego learned about Grant smuggling meth with the Aryan Fraternity, Crystal said that Grant might had Diego killed to shut him up.

After the Aryan Fraternity discovered that they were being investigated by the authorities, members of the group came after Riggs and Murtaugh. During one encounter, several members of the Aryan Fraternity ambushed Riggs on the road. But just when Riggs ran out of bullets to protect himself, his attackers retreated after receiving a call. After the Aryan Fraternity spared Riggs’ life, the cop got anonymous text that read, “You’re welcome. Merry Xmas.”

At the end of the episode, Riggs got a surprise call from his dad Nathan (Rex Linn), who was revealed to be alive and locked up in jail. Nathan, who’s a member of the Aryan Fraternity, informed his estranged son that he’s the one who saved his life.

Even though Riggs owes Nathan for saving his life, the detective still hates his dad. “When you get out of here I’m gonna kill you” Riggs tells Nathan in the trailer for the next episode.
